Healing Isn’t About Fixing – It’s about remembering-
By Donna Marie Holistic & Spiritual Wellbeing
Hello Lovelies
We often step into healing spaces or spiritual practices because something feels broken. A part of us aches for peace, clarity, or wholeness. The world can be noisy, and we can start to believe that healing means “fixing” what’s wrong — smoothing every edge, erasing every scar. But true healing isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about coming home.
The Myth of Being Broken
Somewhere along the way, we absorbed the idea that pain means failure — that anxiety, sadness, or confusion are signs we’ve lost our way. But what if they’re not? What if they’re simply parts of our human experience asking to be witnessed?
When we approach healing as “self-improvement,” we often layer judgment onto ourselves. We start chasing versions of “better” that keep us running. But healing, in its truest sense, is not a race. It’s a remembering — of softness, of presence, of our innate enoughness.
The Gentle Art of Allowing
Spiritual practices — meditation, prayer, energy work, movement, stillness — are not tools to escape who we are. They are invitations to meet ourselves more fully. They teach us to sit in the mess, to breathe into what is tender, and to open to what wants to be known.
Healing happens in the quiet moments when we stop trying to control the process. When we let the tears fall. When we rest. When we listen instead of strive.
Wholeness Has Always Been Here
You are not a problem to solve. You are a being to love. The parts of you that hurt are not mistakes — they are messages. They are guiding you toward deeper truth and connection.
Healing isn’t about erasing your past or becoming someone new; it’s about reclaiming the parts of you that forgot they belonged. It’s remembering that your spirit was never broken — only covered.
A Practice of Presence
If your heart feels heavy today, try this gentle reminder:
- You do not need to be healed to be whole.
- You do not need to be perfect to be loved.
- You do not need to fix yourself to be worthy of peace.
Take one breath. Feel the ground beneath you. Trust that life is moving through you, not against you. That is healing — not a destination, but a continuous unfolding into truth.
